- 1 (3 to 4 lb.) chicken, cut up
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3/4 c. evaporated milk, undiluted
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 bay leaf
- paprika
Directions

1Wash chicken in cold water and drain.

2Roll chicken pieces in mixture of flour, salt and pepper, covering well.

3Brown in shortening.

4Place in baking dish.

5Pour milk over chicken.

6Add the water and bay leaf and sprinkle generously with paprika. Cover and bake.

7Remove cover during last 15 minutes or longer to finish browning.

8Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°.
