- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 1 1/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 3/4 c. melted butter
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1In saucepan, combine caramels and 2/3 cup evaporated milk; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until candy has melted; set aside.

2In mixing bowl, combine 2/3 cup evaporated milk, cake mix, melted butter and chopped nuts.

3Press 1/2 of the mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.

4Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

5Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over baked crust.

6Spread caramel mixture and crumble remaining dough on top. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes.

7Cool slightly.

8Refrigerate 30 minutes.

9Cut into squares.
