  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

    Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs.

    Sift together dry ingredients.

    Add to cream mixture.

    Roll into balls.

    Dip one side in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Bake on ungreased baking sheet (10 to 12 minutes) in 400° oven until slightly brown, but still soft.
