- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/3 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat thoroughly. Combine flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

2Gradually blend dry ingredients into cream mixture.

3Chill dough.

4Roll into walnut size balls.

5Mix cinnamon and sugar; roll balls in mix. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

6Bake at 375° for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

7Cookies will puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.

8Yields 5 dozen.
