- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and 3/4 cup sugar.

2Add egg and beat well.

3In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar.

4Add the sifted dry ingredients to the butter mixture.

5Cover and refrigerate for one hour.

6Preheat oven to 400°F.

7On a small plate, mix together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.

8Roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut.

9Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar.

10Place on ungreased cookie sheet, leaving room between each ball.

11Bake 10 minutes or until edges are light brown.
