- 1 c. soft shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. soda and salt
Directions

1Mix together thoroughly shortening, eggs and sugar.

2Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Chill dough.

3Roll into walnut size balls.

4Roll these in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

5Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

6Bake until lightly brown but still soft.

7Bake in 375° oven for 10 minutes.

8The cookies puff up at first but flatten out with crinkly tops.

9Makes 2 dozen (2-inch) cookies.
