  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 4 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
  • 4 envelopes Dream Whip
  • 1 large angel food cake
  • 1 box shredded coconut
  • large maraschino cherries, chopped

Directions

    Soften gelatin in cold water; add boiling water and stir until dissolved.

    Add sugar, lemon juice and pineapple, including juice. Chill until partially firm.

    Whip 2 envelopes Dream Whip according to directions on box.

    Fold into gelatin mix.

    Cut or break cake in small pieces.

    Arrange alternate layers of cake and gelatin mixture in pan until all is used.

    Chill overnight.

    Next morning, prepare remaining 2 packages of Dream Whip.

    Spread over cake.

    Garnish with coconut and cherries.

    Refrigerate until just before serving.
