Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 cup bran
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450F (230C).

2Mix dry ingredients.

3Make a well in the middle and add buttermilk.

4Stir just enough to moisten.

5Turn dough onto floured board and gently work with hands for about a minute.

6Shape into a round loaf and place in an 8 inchesround cakepan.

7Cut an X across the top of the dough with a knife.

8Reduce heat to 350F (180C) F and bake 55 to 60 minutes.

9Bread will be done when it sounds hollow when you rap on the bottom.
