- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. milk, scalded
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 5 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Add butter, sugar and salt in milk; when lukewarm, add yeast dissolved in warm water.

3Add egg, slightly beaten.

4Stir in the flour gradually and form into a soft dough.

5Knead 2 minutes.

6Cover; let rise in warm place until double in size.

7Shape into rolls; let rise again.

8Bake until golden brown.

9Remove from oven and brush tops with melted butter if desired.

10Remove to wire racks to cool.
