  • 3/4 c. margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 c. light molasses
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar.

    Add the beaten egg and molasses. Add the flour, baking soda and spices.

    Mix well.

    The dough will be a little sticky.

    Shape the dough into balls the size of a walnut.

    Roll the ball in granulated sugar and bake for 7 to 8 minutes (no longer) at 350°.

    Makes 5 dozen cookies.
