  • 3/4 c. oleo
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. light molasses or dark Karo syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. ginger

Directions

    Cream together oleo and sugar. Add molasses or syrup and egg. Beat. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Add to oleo, sugar and molasses mixture; mix well. Roll into small balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2-inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
