- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. scalded milk
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add to cooled, scalded milk. Combine the dry ingredients and add liquid; work into dough.

3Be sure to add the last 1/4 cup of liquid slow enough to form firm ball.

4Roll dough out 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares.

5Fry only a few at a time.

6Spoon over them to help them puff up.

7May spread with butter and honey on top while still hot.
