- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- enough water to make medium dough
Directions

1Sift all dry ingredients together.

2Cut in the shortening. Add water and make into dough.

3Let rest for 15 minutes.

4Eggs may be omitted if you so desire.

5Roll out dough about 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick.

6Cut into 3-inch trapezoid shape.

7Fry in grease at 375° until golden brown, then turn them over.

8They puff up quite a bit. Serve with honey.
