- 4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. scalded milk
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Add to scalded milk cooled to room temperature. Make a well in center of dry ingredients.

4Add liquid and work into dough.

5Knead dough 15 to 20 minutes; set aside for 10 minutes.

6Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.

7Cut into squares or triangles and fry in 420° shortening.

8Fry 1 or 2 at a time so fat will stay hot.
