Ingredients

  • 5 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2/3 c. cooking oil
  • 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 3 Tbsp. water

    Sift 4 cups flour into mixing bowl.

    Make hole in flour.

    Mix all dry ingredients with other cup of flour and sift into hole. Pour buttermilk, oil and yeast into hole and start mixing.

    Cover and let set in refrigerator at least 3 hours.

    Spoon onto cookie sheet.

    Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.
