- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 c. sourdough starter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

1Mix together in a large bowl the cornmeal, sugar and salt. Scald milk and add butter.

2Let butter melt in hot milk.

3Pour liquid over the cornmeal and mix well.

4Cool to lukewarm.

5Stir in sourdough starter and beaten egg.

6Add soda and cream of tartar. Pour into buttered 8-inch square pan and bake at 425° for 30 to 35 minutes.
