  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 cup boiling water
  • 12 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 3 teaspoons double-acting baking powder
  • 14 cup butter
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

    Preheat oven to 300F.

    Cream butter and sugar, add water, milk, and vanilla.

    Add 1 cup of flour and 1 egg and beat hard.

    Then add 2nd cup of flour and 2nd egg and beat hard.

    Add 3rd cup of flour and 1 Cup of Sourdough and beat hard.

    Then add baking powder and beat hard for the last time :).

    Pour into 1 Bundt pan (or 2 loaf pans lined with parchment paper).

    Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until tester comes out clean.

    For vanilla sauce.

    Melt butter, add flour then sugar, milk & vanilla.

    Whisk over medium heat until just thick and pour over cake slices before serving.
