- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water; let stand about 5 minutes.

2Combine flour, sugar and salt in a medium sized nonmetal bowl and stir well.

3Gradually stir in 2 cups warm water.

4Add yeast mixture and mix well.

5Cover starter loosely with plastic wrap or cheesecloth; let stand in warm place (85°) for 72 hours, stirring 2 to 3 times daily.

6Place fermented mixture in refrigerator and stir once a day.

7Use within 11 days.
