- 4 ounces baker's German sweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 2/3 cups evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell, fluted
- 1 1/3 cups baker's angel flake coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions

1Melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat.

2Gradually blend in milk.

3In a seperate bowl mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt thoroughly. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture.

4Pour into pie shell.

5Combine coconut and pecans; sprinkle over filling.

6Bake in moderate oven (375*) until top puffs and begins to crack-about 50 minutes. (Center of pie should be soft.).

7Cool at least 3 hours before serving.
