- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- vegetable oil, to fry cakes in
Directions

1Place cornmeal in a bowl and scalt it b adding the boiling water. Allow to cool slightly. Add the remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.

2Pour by large spoonfuls into hot oil in a frying pan. when cakes are brown and crisp around edges (2 to 3 minutes) flip and cook the other side.

3Serve immediately.
