- 2 c. white corn meal
- 1 Tbsp. white flour
- 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 egg, beaten

1Heat oven to 425°.

2In 10-inch iron skillet (on top of stove), melt drippings.

3Mix rest of ingredients until blended.
