- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 1/2 lb. hamburg (optional)
- 1 medium onion, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil (optional)
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. oregano (optional)
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt (optional)
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 4 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Directions

1Cook spaghetti, drain and place in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Stir in butter, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and egg until thoroughly combined.

2Spread mixture evenly in pan.

3Saute hamburg, onion and green pepper in oil in a large skillet until meat is brown, then drain.

4Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano and garlic salt.

5Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti layer; top with meat mixture.

6Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese over top and bake another 5 or 10 minutes, until cheese is melted.

7Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting.
