Ingredients

  • 1 large can V-8 juice
  • 8 oz. can tomato paste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 medium chopped onions
  • 2 small green peppers, chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

Directions

    Brown ground beef in olive oil.

    Saute onions, peppers and celery.

    Mix V-8 juice, tomato paste and spices in 4 quart saucepan and preheat.

    Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Blend ground beef, onions, peppers and celery in sauce.

    Simmer on low heat for at least 4 hours.

    If it becomes too thick, add 1 cup cooking sherry. Never use water.
