Ingredients
- 1 c. fresh parsley, chopped
- large can tomato juice
- 4 to 5 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 large onion
- 6 Italian sweet sausages or 1 to 2 lb. ground round or any meat of your choice
- 1 (12 oz.) tomato paste
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- pinch of soda
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
Directions

1Chop onion and garlic fine; brown in 3 tablespoons olive oil in frypan until soft.

2Add 1 can tomato juice, tomato paste (rinse can) and tomato sauce.

3Add fresh parsley and pinch of soda; stir. Add salt to taste.

4Cover and simmer.

5Fry sausage or brown hamburger; drain.

6Cut sausage up; add to sauce after it has simmered 1 hour.

7Add basil, oregano and stir.

8Cook 2 to 3 hours, cooking uncovered the last hour.
