Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 4 oz. can mushroom pieces
  • 1 5 oz. green pepper, sliced and cut (approx. 1 c.)
  • 1 large onion sliced and cut (approx. 1 c.)
  • 2 small stalks celery and leaves (approx 1 1/3 c.)
  • 2 6 oz. cans water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic (I use more)
  • 1 very small hot pepper or a few flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil or few fresh leaves

    Combine all ingredients, and simmer for 1/2 hour. Makes 3 pints.
