- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 2 large green peppers, chopped
- 2 medium onions, finely chopped
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 c. long grain rice, uncooked
- 2 large celery stalks, shopped
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 6 c. water
Directions

1Heat oil over medium-high heat in a heavy kettle; add rice and next 7 ingredients.

2Cook until rice is browned, stirring often.

3Stir in water and tomato sauce; bring to a boil.

4Reduce heat to medium; cover and cook 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
