Spanish Rice

  • 1/4 c. onions
  • 1/4 c. bell pepper
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin powder
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1/4 c. Wesson oil
  • 2 c. rice (plain, uncooked)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper

Directions

    Heat Wesson oil in large skillet.

    Saute rice.

    Add onions and bell pepper.

    Mix garlic powder and cumin powder with tomato sauce and water together.

    Add mixture to rice.

    Let mixture come to a bubble.

    Add salt and pepper to mixture.

    After it bubbles for a minute, turn heat to low setting and cover with tight lid.

    Cook until steam stops coming out of lid, or for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Do not uncover until almost completed cooking.
