- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- caramel frosting
Directions

1Beat shortening, sugar and eggs.

2Combine dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk to first mixture. Beat well.

3Add vanilla. Pour batter into two greased and floured 8-inch pans. Bake 25 to 30 minutes in a 350° oven. Frost with favorite caramel frosting.
