- 34 teaspoon all-purpose flour
- 1 12 teaspoons ginger, ground
- 1 12 teaspoons nutmeg, ground
- 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 12 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 14 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon brandy
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2Combine the flour, ginger, and nutmeg.

3In a large mixing bowl, cream vegetable shortening and brown sugar.

4Beat in the molasses and brandy.

5Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.

6Drop the dough by spoonfuls 2-1/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.

7Bake 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown.

8As soon as the cookies are cool enough to handle, remove them from the baking sheet and roll up around metal cone shapes.

9Place seam side down on wire racks to cool.
