  • 12 medium head red cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 medium tart apple
  • 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 18 teaspoon ground cloves

    Bring a large pot of salted water to boil.

    Meanwhile, dice cabbage.

    Boil cabbage for 1 minute, drain and return to pot.

    Chop onion and slice apple.
