  • 2 c. half-and-half or whipping cream
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. granulated garlic
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c. quick-cooking grits, uncooked
  • 2 oz. cream cheese, cubed
  • 3/4 c. (3 oz.) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 tsp. sauce or red pepper

Directions

    Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil in a large sauce pan. Gradually stir in grits.

    Return to a boil.

    Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally for 5 to 7 minutes until thickened. Add cheeses and hot sauce or red pepper, stirring until cheeses melt.
