- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or butter
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 cans Ro-Tel tomatoes
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 c. raisins
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 1/4 c. slivered almonds, toasted
- salt to taste
- corn chips or tostados
Directions

1Brown onions in drippings or butter in a large pan.

2Add beef and brown; drain excess fat.

3Add garlic, cloves, cinnamon, tomatoes and sugar; simmer for approximately 1 hour, covered.

4Add raisins and cumin; simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

5Add almonds. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.

6Salt to taste.

7Serve hot in a chafing dish with chips.
