Spicy Pot Roast

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 (4 to 5 lb.) pot roast
- 1 c. tomato sauce
- 1 c. dry red wine
- 2 pieces orange peel (about 1 x 2-inches)
- 5 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 6 small white onions, peeled
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven; add pot roast and brown on all sides.

2Add tomato sauce, 1/2 cup wine, orange peel, cloves, cinnamon sticks and garlic.

3Cover and bake at 300° for 2 to 3 hours.

4Add remaining ingredients; cover and cook 1 hour longer or until meat is tender.

5Remove meat to a warm platter and let stand for 15 minutes before slicing.

6Skim grease from pan juices and serve as a sauce over meat slices.
