Split Pea Soup

- 1/2 lb. split peas
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- water to cover
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 c. chopped carrots
- ham bone or chopped ham
Directions

1Soak peas overnight.

2Combine peas, celery, onions, carrots and ham.

3Cover ingredients with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat.

4Cover with lid and simmer until vegetables are tender.

5Water may be added if soup becomes too thick.
