- 1 lb. dry split green peas (2 c.)
- 1 1/2 qt. water
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 small potato, peeled and cubed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 lb. smoked precooked ham, cubed
- 1 1/2 qt. hot water
- salt
- pepper
Directions

1Soak peas in 1 1/2 quarts water overnight.

2Drain.

3Combine peas and remaining ingredients in a 4-quart casserole.

4Season with salt and pepper as desired.

5Cook, covered, on Full power for 20 to 30 minutes or until boiling.

6Stir halfway through cooking time.

7Continue cooking on Cook level 4 for 10 to 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.

8Stir several times during cooking time.

9If desired, remove and mash 2 cups of cooked peas.

10Return to soup and blend.
