- 1 c. milk
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 6 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Heat milk in small saucepan until bubbles form around edge of pan.

2Remove from heat.

3Preheat oven to 350°.

4Sift flour with baking powder and salt; set aside.

5In large bowl of electric mixer at high speed, beat eggs until thick and lemon colored.

6Gradually add the sugar, beating until the mixture is smooth and well blended, about 5 minutes.

7At low speed, beat in flour mixture just until smooth.

8Add warm milk and vanilla, beating just until combined.

9Turn batter into an ungreased 9-inch round layer cake pan, an ungreased 8-inch round layer cake pan and an ungreased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan (pour slightly less batter into square pan). Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
