  • 5 eggs, separated
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar (raw or white)
  • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour or white
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. water

Directions

    Beat 5 egg yolks and water until thick and lemon colored. Fold in sugar, salt, vanilla, flour, baking powder and last, stiffly beaten egg whites with cream of tartar.

    Bake 1 hour or until done.

    A very nice cake.
