- 3 cups water, boiling
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 12 cup butter, cut up
- 2 cups milk (not skim)
- 4 large eggs, beaten slightly
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375 degrees (Fahrenheit) and lightly grease a 13x9 inch baking dish.

2Measure cornmeal into a large heatproof bowl.

3Gradually pour boiling water over cornmeal and stir until mixture is smooth.

4Add salt and butter and stir until butter melts and mixture is well blended.

5Let mixture stand 10 minutes.

6After mixture stands, stir in milk and beaten eggs gradually.

7Stir in baking powder.

8Pour into prepared baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until lightly browned.
