Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 4 c. self-rising flour or 4 c. plain flour with 1 tsp. salt and 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine, melted
  • 2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar (3 tsp. if you don't like them real sweet)
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Place yeast in 2 cups warm water.

    Melt butter; cream with sugar.

    Add egg.

    Add dissolved yeast to creamed mixture, then add flour and mix well.

    Place in airtight bowl.

    Store in refrigerator.

    To cook, drop by spoonfuls onto well-greased muffin tins and bake at 350° for about 20 minutes or until browned.

    This dough keeps for several days.
