Squash Cucumber Pickles

Ingredients

  • 3 qt. yellow squash
  • 3 qt. cucumbers
  • 6 medium onions
  • 1 c. salt
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 1/2 qt. vinegar
  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. turmeric

Directions

    Slice and combine cucumbers, onions and squash.

    Add salt. Let stand for 3 hours then drain.

    Combine seasonings and vinegar. Bring to a boil.

    Add cucumber squash and onions.

    Heat to simmering.

    Point and pack in hot sterilized jars.

    Seal immediately (do not boil pickles, as this will cause them to become soft).
