Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 clove garlic or 1 1/2 Tbsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp. basil (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 3/4 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 1/4 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 can tomato paste (3 oz.)
  • 5 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1 carton small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Brown meat in oil.

    Add 1/2 teaspoon basil, garlic salt, tomatoes and tomato paste.

    Simmer together 1 hour.

    Cook, drain and rinse noodles.

    Combine cottage cheese, rest of basil and Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, salt, pepper and parsley.

    Arrange in slightly greased casserole dish layers:

    noodles, cheese and meat sauce until all is used.

    Add Mozzarella on top.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until cheese is golden brown on top.
