Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 7 steaks (or 1 round steak, making 4 lb. total)
  • 2 cans (6 oz. each) mushroom steak sauce
  • 1 c. Sauterne wine
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped pimiento
  • 2 tsp. chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tbsp. dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 Tbsp. bitters (Peyshaud or Angostura)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. Louisiana hot sauce or 1/2 tsp. Tabasco

Directions

    Heat the cooking oil in a Dutch oven.

    Add the meat and cover with the rest of the ingredients.

    Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and let cook over low heat for 2 to 3 hours.
