Ingredients

  • 6 frozen cube steaks
  • 1/4 c. chopped onions
  • 1 can (1 lb. 14 oz.) sliced pineapple
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 green pepper cut in strips
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. soy sauce

Directions

    Brown steaks quickly in butter in large skillet.

    Add onions, peppers, salt and pepper.

    Brown lightly.

    Add pineapple including juice, soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger.

    Heat.

    Blend cornstarch and water into a smooth paste.

    Remove meat, pineapple and pepper strips.

    Stir cornstarch into liquid in skillet, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and clears.

    Return meat, pineapple and peppers to skillet.

    Serve with hot rice.
