Steamed Persimmon Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 c. persimmon pulp
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. sweet milk

Directions

    Add all ingredients to the persimmon pulp in order given.

    May add nut meats and/or raisins.

    Pour into greased mold and cover tightly.

    Set in pan of water and steam 1 hour at 350°.

    Serve hot or cold with your choice of sauce, ice cream or whipped cream. May add chopped dates, too.
