- 3 c. beef or chicken broth
- 3 c. water
- 2 small potatoes
- 3 stalks celery with leaves
- 3 carrots
- 1 onion
- small stone, scrubbed and washed
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
- salt
- pepper
Directions

1Pour the beef or chicken broth and water into a large pot.

2Let simmer on low heat.

3While the liquid is heating, wash potatoes, celery and carrots.

4(Children may help with this step.)

5Peel and dice potatoes and carrots.

6Dice the celery.

7Chop onion into fine pieces.

8Drop the cleaned stone into the pot.

9Add vegetables to broth.

10Simmer for 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
