- 1 lb. fresh string beans
- 1 Tbsp. Crisco oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- parsley (for garnish)
Directions

1Snip ends off string beans and wash in cold water; snip string beans in half.

2Boil string beans with salt for 3 to 5 minutes. Cool string beans with cold water.

3Put oil in pan on high.

4When oil is hot, put in garlic, quickly stirring and turning with spatula (about 30 seconds).

5Add string beans, water, sugar, basil and salt; keep turning with spatula until heated (about 1 to 2 minutes).

6Add parsley and serve.
