Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • 2 hot peppers (optional)
  • 1/2 c. onions
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/8 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Brown ground beef and sausage with pepper and onion; drain. Add tomato sauce, garlic and Parmesan cheese; simmer for 10 minutes.

    Cut bread in 1/2; scoop out some of middle.

    Put two bread halves side by side on a large cookie sheet.

    Layer on sauce; sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top.

    Cover with foil and bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
