Stuffed Cabbage Leaves

Ingredients
- 6 medium or large cabbage leaves
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. finely chopped onion
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. all-purpose barbecue sauce or barbecue sauce with hickory smoke flavor
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 2/3 c. cooked rice
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Boil cabbage leaves in salted water for about 3 minutes; drain.

2Combine egg, salt, onion, milk and 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce; mix well.

3Add beef, pork and rice; mix lightly.

4Place 1/2 cup meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf.

5Fold sides and ends of leaves over meat mixture; secure with wooden picks.

6Saute in butter in a skillet about 5 minutes, or until golden on both sides.

7Add remaining barbecue sauce and the water.

8Cover and cook 40 minutes, basting twice during cooking.

9Remove cover and cook another 5 minutes.

10Makes 6 servings.
