Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

- 2 qt. shredded cabbage
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb. sausage meat
- 1/2 lb. ground round
- 1 egg
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. oleo
Directions

1Remove the large leaves of cabbage (8) and blanch with hot water to soften.

2Shred cabbage and slice onion.

3Brown in skillet in oleo until golden.

4Add salt and pepper to cabbage mixture; then add bread crumbs and put aside to cool.

5When cool, add sausage, beef and egg and mix well.

6Place a portion in each cabbage leaf and roll.

7Tie with a piece of string.

8Put on rack in pan and bake at 350° for 1 hour.

9I place a piece of foil to cover loosely to keep cabbage from burning; remove last 10 minutes.
