  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 tbsp minced onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp long grain rice
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 (14oz) can peeled tomatoes; undrained & cut up
  • 1 (15oz) can of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup raisins

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil 8 large leaves for 4-6 minutes. Combine ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, egg, rice, and water. Mix until combined. Shred remaining cabbage, add tomatoes with liquid, sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice. Blend well.

    Cover and bake 2 hours

    Remove cover and bake 30 minutes.
